2) A Comprehensive Yard Tour
3) Live Collection and Lab Session
4) Introduction to their Sister company Gemini Genetics

Detailed Description
This trip is to Stallion AI Services, a DEFRA approved quarantine centre and the UK's largest Equine Semen storage and distribution centre, shipping semen worldwide.
This trip will include:
1) An Intro to Stallion AI and Equine Assisted Reproduction
2) A Yard Tour in which students will see:
- The design of the facilities
- Stallion nutrition
- Management of the stallion
- How they meet client expectations
- Colt Housing and Management
- Teaser Mares
- Biosecurity
- Preparing a stallion for Semen Collection
- Opportunity to meet the stallions, including Olympic 2x Gold Medalist Big Star, and Murkas Gem - the clone of an olympic showjumper.
3) Live Collection and Lab Session
- Tour of the collection area and AV room
- Biosecurity
- Dummy vs Mare
- Live semen collection from one of their stallions
- Semen assessment in the lab
- Introduction to processing chilled semen
4) Introduction to Gemini Genetics
- Who are Gemini Genetics and what do we do?
- Principles of cloning
- Why clone?
- Case studies
- Lab visit
We will be leaving college at 08:30 to be there for an 11:00AM start. We will then be back at college for 16:00PM.
You will need to bring your own food/drink and there will be a time slot for us to eat on-site at lunchtime.
